Esco Labculture Reliant (LR2) Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet (E-Series) blends the latest generation of energy efficient ECM motor technology with Esco's experience of more than 25 years in biosafety cabinet design. The Labculture Reliant combines the advanced Labculture (LA2) Class II Type A2 design with simplicity in operations, via simple switches and pressure gauge. Utilizing 2 minipleat ULPA (Ultra Low Air Penetration) filters which operate at a typical efficiency of 99.999%, these surpass the conventional HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters in contamination protection. Esco Labculture features a 10-degree sloped front for maximum operator comfort. A 1-piece stainless steel work zone and the absence of screws or connectors in the work zone facilitate ease of cleaning after experiments. The Isocide™ powder coating finish prevents microbial/bacterial growth on the exterior and delivers a sleek, elegant appearance fitting for the leader in biosafety cabinet technology.

Key Benefits:
    · Energy efficient, using the latest generation ECM motor
    · Established safety, sharing the LA2 design as the most certified BSC in world to: NSF/ANSI 49, EN 12469, SFDA YY0569, JIS K3800
    · Easy to use, featuring simple switches, pressure gauge, and manual UV timer

ULPA ISOCIDE NSF UL

  •     Latest generation ECM motor made in USA, as the heart of the cabinet
  •     Negative pressure plenum surrounds contaminated positive pressure plenum; no fabric bags are used.
  •     Dual, long-life ULPA filters for supply and exhaust (per IEST-RP-CC001.3) with 99.999% efficiency for particle size between 0.1 to 0.3 microns.
  •     Angled supply filter matches cabinet profile to achieve best downflow uniformity.
  •     Zero volt alarm output port enables remote monitoring of cabinet sash alarm.
  •     Frameless sash that is easier to clean.
  •     Ergonomically angled front improves reach and comfort.
  •     Actual work access height is 25 mm (1") higher than tested sash opening.
  •     Coved one-piece work surface contains spillage
  •     Raised airflow grille maintains safety by preventing blockage.
  •     Esco ISOCIDE antimicrobial coating on all painted surfaces minimizes contamination.
  •     Enhanced side-capture zones optimize containment.
Work area on Esco 0.9 meter (3') cabinet is equivalent to work

Working Safely In Your Biological Safety Cabinet Poster Airflow

  • Ambient air is pulled through the perforations located towards the work zone front to prevent contamination of the work surface and work product. The inflow does not mix with the clean air within the cabinet work zone. Inflow air travels through a return path toward the common air plenum (blower plenum) at the top of the cabinet.
  • Approximately 40% of the air in the common plenum is exhausted through the ULPA filter to the room. The remaining 60% of the air is passed through the downflow ULPA filter and into the work area as a vertical laminar flow air stream bathing the work surface in clean air.
  • The uniform, non-turbulent air stream protects against cross contamination within and throughout the work area.
  • Near the work surface, the downflow air stream splits with a portion moving toward the front air grille, and the remainder moving to the rear air grille. A small portion of the ULPA filtered downflow enters the intake perforations at the side capture zones at a higher velocity (small blue arrows).
  • A combination of inflow and downflow air streams forms an air barrier that prevents contaminated room air from entering the work zone, and prevents work surface emissions from escaping the work zone.
  • Air returns to the common air plenum where the 40% exhaust and 60% recirculation process is continued.
